How to Designate, Change, or Revoke a Workspace Admin

This article is for Billing Owners managing Workspace Admin access for an Timeline Online subscription.

Overview

The Account Center allows Billing Owners to designate a Workspace Admin at checkout, change the Workspace Admin at any time, or remove the role entirely. This guide covers all three scenarios.

A) Designating a Workspace Admin at Checkout

During checkout, you can designate someone to manage licenses by entering their email address in the optional Workspace Admin field. After purchase is complete, the designated Workspace Admin receives an email notification with license administration instructions.

B) Changing the Workspace Admin after Purchase

To reassign the Workspace Admin role to someone else:

  1. Sign in to your account at lucensoftware.com and go to Admin > Subscriptions.
  2. Select the subscription you want to update.
  3. On the Details tab, find the License info section.
  4. Next to Workspace admin, click Edit.
  5. Enter the email address of the new Workspace Admin and save your changes.

The new Workspace Admin will receive an email notification with license administration instructions. The previous Workspace Admin will also be notified that their role has been reassigned.

A Workspace Admin can only change their own account email address one time. This restriction is in place to prevent fraud. If a Workspace Admin needs to update their email after that one-time change, contact support.

C) Revoking the Workspace Admin Role

To remove the Workspace Admin from a subscription without assigning a replacement:

  1. Sign in to your account at lucensoftware.com and go to Admin > Subscriptions.
  2. Select the subscription you want to update.
  3. On the Details tab, find the License info section.
  4. Next to Workspace admin, click Edit.
  5. In the dialog, click Remove License Manager.

The Workspace Admin will be notified that their role has been removed. The subscription will have no designated Workspace Admin until a new one is assigned.
