How to Transfer a License to Another User

This article is for Workspace Admins and Billing Owners who need to move an active license from one user to another.

Overview

Transferring a license involves two steps: unassigning the seat from the current user and assigning it to the new one. Both are done in the Account Center.

A) Unassigning the Current User's License

  1. Sign in to your account at lucensoftware.com and go to Admin > Subscriptions.
  2. Select the subscription you want to update.
  3. Go to the Seats tab.
  4. Find the user whose license you want to transfer and click Unassign.

The user will receive an email notification that their license has been removed. Their account will revert to the Free plan.


B) Assigning the License to a New User

  1. On the Seats tab, click Manually next to Add users.
  2. Enter the email address of the new user and save your changes.

The new user will receive an email notification with instructions to activate their license.
